Rainy Morning Baking

Rainy days = creative mommies. Ashleigh had a great idea for us to get to baking! I had extra sugar cookie dough from a cookie order I was doing so we cranked out some numbers! I think that helped Kirkley to forgive me that she couldn't eat/touch any of the baptism crosses I'd made. Of course, she always keeps her Martha minded mommy in check -- her favorite part of the entire process: the tiny bowl of sprinkles!!

Aquarium

We took a quick trip to meet Boppy and Gigi for a great morning at the aquarium! Kirkley loved naming everything there, wanted to see the 3D movie again, and had a blast getting to touch some of the animals!

Catching up with old friends

We got to hang out with Mattie and Mary Evans today at the park. We've missed Mattie since she moved away! These girls were born within weeks of each other, and now they'll all have siblings born within weeks of each other too. Mary Evans will have a little brother and Mattie will be having a little sister!

We had a great time catching up: the girls played and played, and the mommies reminisced about how they've gone from this...

to such big girls!!!
We miss you Mattie! Come visit again soon!

Looks like someone wants a puppy!

I turned the corner in the living room today and found this scene...Think someone is ready for a puppy? Too bad -- she'll be getting a little brother first. Glad she knows how to share her afternoon snack! :)

Daddy's Girl

Summertime typically means long work hours for daddy. Kirkley misses him tons during the week. She asked last week to visit nearly every day so off we'd go to pop in on daddy {and the whole office staff -- these visits merit their own post!}. Daddy has done a great job of making the most of their weekend time with little daddy/daughter dates here and there -- hitting the park and going for funny face pancakes are running a tight race as favorites. She also knows who will get down and dirty with her in the yard and the sand!

Zoo Morning

We took advantage of the great weekend weather and hit the zoo bright and early! It was a great morning with the fam and Kirkley took the most interest in all of the animals we'd seen yet.
She had her eyes glued to the sea otters!

Curls are here to stay!

I had some concerned comments from folks that thought we might want to flat iron Kirkley's hair on a regular basis. Don't worry, the curls aren't going anywhere, especially since this is how her friends recognize her! The Thames girls stopped by this morning, and they drew several pics of Kirkley -- all with the little circles on her head! :) "What are those?" I asked. "Those are her curls!"
