Colors

Colors for whatever reason have not come easily! She's gotten so much better in the last few weeks and was so proud when she snagged this "pink bawoon" at our sweet friends' birthday party!

Hiding

Found this little stinker hiding from me in her tunnel... And she thought it was just hilarious!

Turning it off

The tv that is -- or at least getting to watch the Today Show or something other than Noggin! :)

In the time that we aren't at the pool, it is too hot to be outside for long! So we've been scrounging around for indoor activities. Pasta pouring and sorting has been this week's favorite. Of course sometimes it ends with pasta all over the floor, but she loves pouring and playing with the tri-colored Easter pasta I got on clearance. Notice the concentration in that tounge....
Other popular pasttimes are playing with stickers, coloring, and dressing up. So what's your favorite {cheap} indoor activity {that doesn't involve paint or markers}???

Baby Judi

Baby Judi is still a constant sidekick. She enjoyed snack time today with Kirkley along with a car ride, trip to the store, etc.

Baby Judi has also opened the door to great new baby conversations that consistently go like this:

Me: "Who is having a baby?"

K: "Mommy."

Me: "Do you want mommy to have a baby brother or baby sister?"

K: "Baby broder!"

Me: "What should we name baby brother?"

K: "Baby Judi!"

We find out July 6 if her baby "broder" prediction is right. I went for my 15 week appointment today and everything looked good! We're so grateful!

Happy Father's Day!!!

This little gal loves her daddy lots! She sure knows who to go to for running and sprinkler fun outside, dressing her up crazy, giving horsey rides, fishing with crickets, getting the morning paper and fixing her breakfast, swimming in the deep end, feeding ducks...not to mention as I type he's playing guitar and seranading her while she takes a bath!

We're so blessed to have you!
Holly & Kirkley (& #2 soon!)

50 Years!

We celebrated my grandparents' 50 year anniversary this June! We so enjoyed having family here from all over the country for a long weekend.

At the gym

Kirkley had her first "gymnastics" experience today. She loved running around the bouncy floor, going down the mat slide, and tumbling in the blocks!

We're not above it

Bribery that is.

Note two things in this picture:
1) No paci
2) baby dolls
Kirkley has been paci-free for a week as of today. I've been waiting to blog about it as I thought I may give in and give it back! :)

We were in the middle of our bedtime routine, and it got misplaced so we jumped at the opportunity to discuss how big girls don't need pacis, your friends so and so don't use pacis, Aubie doesn't sleep with a paci, etc. Then we promised she could go get a {dollar tree} toy in the morning if she slept without it. After some coersion to stay in bed, it worked and first thing when she woke up, she knew she was headed to get a toy -- a new baby doll was what she wanted {to go with her 8 others}.

So off we went to the Dollar Tree to buy a baby first thing when they opened. We talked on the way about what baby's name should be -- she's never named anything on her own. Suddenly she says, "Baby Judi -- not Dawson, not Mimi, Baby Judi." Judi is her Aunt, Dawson is her cousin, and Mimi is her great-grandmother.

The name has stuck, however Baby Judi #1 has not -- her head quickly came halfway off, she went to the doctor, and another Baby Judi appeared {from her stash of babies in the playroom}. Baby Judi goes everywhere with her -- shopping, to Daddy's office, car rides, night night, etc.

Now giving up the paci wasn't quite that magical. The nap before we gave up the paci, she fought going down big time -- don't know why we thought that night would be a grand time to try no paci. We've spent a week taking a long time getting her down...until last night when I remembered what got her happy about her big girl bed: popsicles. Worked for that, and she forgot about them after a few days once she was in the routine. I can live with the 60 cal popsicle in the morning with breakfast since she gets no juice. :) And it's working -- two nights down! Trying to put her down early is tricky with the summer sun in her room till 8pm! Working on getting her down early since she's up on the dot at 5:30am no matter what.

All that to say -- we're not above a little positive reinforcement!

Lack of blogging :)

Getting reminded {harassed} by our out of town family to update the blog more! :) Nope, I'm not sick being pregnant -- 13 weeks today. Just loving taking advantage of nap time! And our daily schedule is pretty much the same with little new excitement -- errands, pool, nap, repeat! We're loving it but not much to report...will work on it....

Pool Girl!

We are taking full advantage of the sunny days and Kirkley is loving every minute! From meeting friends in the morning to going with daddy in the evenings after work, we're hitting the pool all the time!
From disco dancing {and singing the theme song to our favorite shows}...
to floatie swimming...
to tricks with daddy...
to fun with friends...

We should have a fish on our hands by the end of summer! Each day she gets a little more brave. We started floaties last week and already she's wanting to swim away from us, jump off the bottom step, and keep up with everyone! And I'm getting used to this staying at home thing!!! :)

In training...

to be a BIG SIS!!!
Baby #2 is due December 16!
We heard the heartbeat today (161) and will be at 12 weeks on Wednesday!
Feeling SO blessed after praying for #2 for a while now.
We find out in 6 weeks boy or girl!
And when I try to say she's regressing,
remind me I can't blame it on baby #2! :)
