May Madness...

So May hit with a storm -- 700+ pics later in my May 2012 folder to prove it!
Random highlights...

Our friend Tipi works with the city to put on a great event where kids can go inspect all sorts of trucks!  The kids loved climbing in and out, honking horns, running through, etc. fire trucks, ambulances, UPS trucks, and even a helicopter take off!  It was a fun morning out with the fam!

First trip to Splash Park -- always a hit!

Lots of fun pool dates are going on -- this one was with one of my good friends from high school's kids!
So fun seeing them together!
Good thing they can't really dive since they're jumping in the shallow end!

Kirkley's had several little camps she's done which has allowed for some brother time...

Cheerleading camp with friends was a hit!
We've heard "Go bittys!" a million times -- as in "itty bittys."
One of our favorite cheerleaders -- Sarah!!

May also had lots of travels -- travel posts to come!

As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth.
“Follow me,” He told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house,
many tax collectors and “sinners” came and ate with Him and his disciples.
When the Pharisees saw this, they asked His disciples,
“Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”
On hearing this, Jesus said,
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’
For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Matthew 9:9-12

Boppy & Gigi's!

Alex was swamped at work so I hit the road with the kids to visit Boppy and Gigi for Memorial Day weekend.

We hit the hot air balloon festival....

Played lots in the pool with Aunt Whitney and Cousin Elle...

They even got to go to a gymnastics party while we were there!

So much fun with cousins!!

The Lord is the strength of His people,
a fortress of salvation for His anointed one."

Texas!

We hit the road to Texas and braced ourselves for a 10+ hour drive!
Our best strategy for this is leaving late afternoon, doing dinner in the car, getting the kids to sleep, and stopping in a hotel after 6-7 hours in the middle of the night.  That way we only have 3 or so hours left in the morning.  All in all, the kids did great!  They all managed to sleep at the same time for maybe 30 whole minutes!

We always stop for pics at the state line -- this was Mac's first trip to Texas!

The kids got to have lots of special time with relatives!
Great grandmother Mimi...

Mac gets so much lovin when Aunt Judi is around!!

The Houston Children's Museum with Granddaddy, Cynthia, Aunt Judi, and Cousin Dawson...

And the carousel with Granddaddy is always a must...

And lots of fun with Aunt Judi and Uncle Mike!
The trip wasn't long enough!!! :)

The Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Dance Recital

Kirkley's end of the year dance recital was too cute!
The girls have had so much fun this year!!

The girls had a whole minute of glory with one song...

We cracked up as she was the last one to scurry off stage!

Afterward with friends...
"Let them praise His name with dancing
and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.
For the Lord takes delight in His people;
He crowns the humble with salvation."
Psalm 149:3-4

Last Day of School

Kirkley's last day of four year old preschool was jam packed with four year old fun!
We started the day with last day pics and a picnic outside her school and finished it with pizza and the pool!

First day picture, then last day -- definitely grew some this year!

Lots of fun at their "See ya later alligator" party at school!

Then it was off to pizza and the pool!

"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are His.
He changes times and seasons;
He sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning."
Daniel 2:20-21
