One Little Monkey...

Kirkley had a great time with all of the Halloween festivities! We went to church carnivals, trick-or-treated at the grandparents' and Lala's, and ate lots of sugar! She was so funny this year about a costume. We looked and looked at the online and in catalogs, and she wasn't drawn to anything. Then one day we were reading the Five Little Monkeys, and she thought dressing up as one of them would be hilarious -- with the "bump" on her head and all!

Jack

Kirkley carved her first pumpkin this year with Aunt Lala! She was so proud getting to help!
She named him Jack and was so excited to bring him home. She was hilarious telling us all about how when they were carving it, they dropped Jack's eye on the floor, and Lala's dog Skippy ate it! She's told the story a million times since. Thanks Aunt Lala for a fun morning of pumpkin carving and seed roasting!

Granddaddy came to visit!

We had a great time getting to see Granddaddy who came for a long weekend visit all the way from Texas! We hit up the home run derby, strolled around downtown on gameday, and soaked up our visit with him. Kirkley loved getting to see him -- come visit again soon!

Christmas Planning

I came across this article on a friend's blog last week and loved it! 12 Weeks to a Peaceful Christmas will certainly be necessary this year having a December baby! We are trying to get our ducks in a row for the arrival of Jay and Christmas. I'm really slacking on buying presents, but I have organized/updated our address labels and started stuffing stockings. Alex gets credit for remembering to order this:
So fun to see his name! What's your best get set for Christmas tip? Other things I want to do soon to get checked off: get together some sort of a Blessing Box (not sure that we'll do all of the days), get some cookies frozen, and finish shopping/wrapping! :)

Spirit Day

They had Spirit Day at Kirkley's school this week. She was thrilled to see Aubie and jumped right in his lap. The cheerleaders were there doing cheers with all of the kids -- it was precious! Her class took a picture with Aubie, then she went back to give him an extra hug before she left! She talked about it for the rest of the night, "I not scared of Aubie! I give him a TIGER hug!"

Shopping Trip

I spent Friday night with lots of sweet girls on a little shopping trip getaway! We had the best time running around town hitting the stores and dining out!
They even threw me a little shower in our room that night. After a great dinner out, we put on pajamas and opened gifts! Baby Jay got lots of sweet things, and we had a great time!
Someone in another town, please vouch for this! Does the ring test ever happen at your get togethers?? I've lost count at how many times I've seen this done now and it always cracks me up! Girls, I hope you appreciate my cropping. I did keep the original just in case I ever need it! :) Kristin was a great photographer!
