The second annual constructing of the gingerbread house took place today. Kirkley was a little more destructive than last year, but she enjoyed stealing candy whenever she had the chance to sneak past daddy. Daddy kept her occupied with a candy cane until it was time for the final touches!
Okay so I decided to buy one of these gingerbread kits for me to make with Dylan and Sutherlan while they were home for Christmas. It was a nightmare. We could not get the house to stand up. All the walls kept collapsing so finally I just gave each of them a side that looked like a house and they covered it with icing and decorated it. Not sure Will is ever going to get to experience the joy of gingerbread house decorating! By the looks of the house, it seems you had control over keeping it cute. I am sure that would not have been Kirkley's way of decorating :)
yes, this is a daddy/daughter thing so all I do is watch...and boss a little :) I totally recommend the kwik build from sam's -- that platform on the bottom had slots for the walls which made it much easier! And much cuter than the usual plastic trays. this was of course mostly a daddy activity...but she watched, ate candy canes, and put candy on at the end! :)
We so enjoy blogging and getting to share little snapshots of our life with you. We have family and friends all over the country who kindly remind us if we're falling a little behind on our posts and pics!
Know that this is just a glimpse of our little life and intended to be a scrapbook of sorts for our family. At the end of the day, we certainly cling to these smiles and precious memories, but there sure are lots of other "moments" in between.
