And I can't believe it! My morning started with a sweet message from a student I taught the year Kirkley was born. Great encouragement to start off a daunting day!
We had a fabulous last day filled with relay games, a luau lunch, a kick ball tournament (my homeroom of course champions again!), yearbook signing, and lots of 6th grade fun! There were lots of emotions going through my head about leaving the kids as I've decided to take time off next year. Weird to tell my students goodbye and not think that I'll see them all the time in the fall -- they've cracked up as past students frequently pop into my room to make sure I don't forget them. I think they're just disappointed they don't get to barge in my room next year too.
I have lots of precious memories, but I'm certainly looking forward to the journey of staying at home with Kirkley! No mixed emotions about that decision!!!
