Our first assignment was rearranging his world so he had to look to the right more and trying to force him to look to the right -- he much prefers to look left, thus the tightness. We went back again today and assignment two is stretching! So now we stretch his neck to the right a few times a day -- he's a good sport about it all! We can't for the life of us figure out how he scoots himself off of the head support pillow at night! Love waking up to this gummy smile!

Sleeping, Schedules, Stretching, & Scooting
This little man has been sleeping through the night 10-12 hours for two weeks now...we love him! :) He sort of sleeps with his eyes cracked -- you can see it in one of them. I always think he's looking at us when he sleeps! We still aren't on any kind of solid schedule -- I've had to loosen up with this big time with #2. We aim for the 3 hour Babywise feed/wake/sleep schedule, but many days, we're out the door right after a feeding, and he zonks out. Wish someone had told me with #1 they'd still sleep through the night even if I wasn't rigid with it (I'm sure someone did tell me, but I knew it all!).
We've also got him sleeping in one of these because he has mild congenital muscular torticollis. That's a big long name for an issue with the muscles in his neck being tight (basically). I noticed a little bit of a flat part on his head right before his two month check up, mentioned it to the doctor, and we agreed on repositioning. He wouldn't stay repositioned for any amount of time, so she sent us right on to a pediatric physical therapist three weeks ago.

Okay, and a cereal question: When did you start spoon feeding cereal?? Since he's been sleeping through the night, he wants to nurse like every 2 1/2 hours. I'm a big believer in nursing, but that feels like all day long! :) The dr said wait till 4 months (which is only 3 weeks away), but did anyone else find that sleeping through the night = hungry babies all day long? He doesn't look like he's missing a meal!!

Holly,
Matthew Clegg had that issue when he was a baby......if you have any questions I can get you Jennifer's number and you can feel her out on it.
try to feed him at 4 months, but if he's not responsive then wait another month. it is best to let the child decide when he is ready to eat.
SO glad we got to talk today, sweet friend! Hope the rest of the day was good. LOVE the little mommy pic, by the way. Let's not let it be so long next time!
Our pediatrician had us start Will on oatmeal at 4 months. After about 2 days, he definitely had the hang of eating from a spoon. He was sleeping through the night by about 10 weeks so I don't think the oatmeal had anything to do with it. Will went through a spell when he was ALWAYS hungry (probably right around where Jay is now...3 months old). We were still on milk only at that point and we did not put oatmeal into the bottle.
Hey:) Whit was a little hungrier during the day so I increased his formula each time, but I didn't notice a huge change-he started sleeping through the night around 3 1/2 months and he eats 6 oz every 4 hours or so (5 times a day). I have not done cereal yet-we go for his 4 mo. check next week (even though he'll be 5 mo.) and I'm going to ask about starting. He hasn't seemed hungry, so that's why I hadn't started yet-ME wouldn't ever eat it, so if he's the same I may just have to go straight to veggies...So there's my limited input:) Hope you get a break!:)
Cooper was a few days past 4 months old when he started waking up in the middle of the night for the first time since sleeping through the night at 10 weeks. Our pediatrician had told me that this would probably happen with him being a big boy and exclusively breastfed. Once we added rice cereal (by spoon at night and once during the day to start) he started sleeping all night again. I think he will tell you when it's time but 4 months worked for Cooper.
