Sorry family that subscribes to the blog -- another couponing post! :) I've had lots of questions/emails about couponing. Here is basically what I understand and am doing. Things are cheaper at the grocery only if they are on sale plus a coupon. For example, this week at Winn Dixie brownie mixes are buy one get one free. Here is what you see on Southern Savers:
Betty Crocker Family Size Fudge Brownies, 18.3oz., at $2.59 ($1.29 each)
-$1/2 Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie or Muffin Mix, Coupon On Select Products
-.40/1 Betty Crocker Supreme Brownies printable
I would print off the .40 off 1 coupon twice because you are getting two, Winn Dixie doubles coupons .50 and under so you will pay $0.49 a box! This is basically how I am stocking up on items -- I only stock up on things I can get for less than $1 that I would buy anyway. If it is NOT on sale, I still think WM is cheaper and I try to use a coupon there when I can! I know it's confusing, but to inspire you more, my initial Winn Dixie bill was $96, my WD card took it down to $62 and coupons took it down to $41. There were like 3 people behind me and I had a STACK of coupons, but saving $21 from coupons was worth it! :) I also refer to her Need it Now List and $1 or Less List each week to see if there is anything we use on a regular basis.
CVS has great deals this week on baby stuff and coupns for all are online. You have to buy $25 in certain baby items, my coupons took my total down to $16 and I got back $10 to use at CVS. The sale is mostly on the mainstream J&J products -- no vapor bath, bedtime, etc so print coupons twice and just buy extras to stock!
Last favorite is from Canvas People. I had our Christmas card pic of Kirkley and Jay made into an 11 x 14 canvas for $27.94 total. If you have a digital pic you love, I so recommend this. It came in today and I love it! Just have it cropped like you want it before you upload it -- imagine about an inch that goes around the side of the canvas. There is no cropping or centering option I found when ordering so have that part done. Now I have thoroughly overused that image of them! :)

O.B.N.O.X.I.O.U.S! Heaven forbid I get excited when I see an email from "The Muncie's" thinking it could be a picture of my babies and NO it's about friggin couponing. Glad you are saving money and all but sheesh!
Love it! My Publix bill was $74 this week and $40 of that went towards $50 in BP gasoline! You're going to have to give a little tutorial on CVSing for me though. Love the canvas idea too- thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this info with us! I am so glad to hear someone clarify that it seems that the "regular" grocery stores are only cheaper if it's on sale AND a coupon. That helps me a lot!
My CVS trip this week rocked the house (in my opinion anyways:)). I spent 18.53 and got Biore Nose Strips and face wash, John Frieda shampoo, two bottles of crest pro health mouth rinse, dial body soap, and a 50 pack of photo cds.
I needed photo cds so I thought I would use the deals this week to help pay for it. I bought all of above except the cds. I got 11.50 in Extra Care Bucks back, and spent 13.53 on those things using coupons. I used all those ECBS plus 5 from a couple of weeks ago, and paid less than 5.00 for a 19.99 pack of photo cds. I was pumped that I paid less for something I neede AND got all of that stuff I will use too!!!!
You inspired me, Holly. After just a little prep, I went to Publix last week, spent $60, saved $22, and that was without even doing many BOGO's! I'm a little obsessed with Southern Savers now. That Canvas People link is great! I totally think we're going to do that! Thanks!!! Hope Kirkley is feeling better!
