How can you get yourself one of these fancy toys? With a quick trip to the ER for x-rays! First off, nothing is wrong. Kirkley is so lucky to have a protective daddy! When we were out of town Saturday, she was playing and got her foot caught under a piece of furniture. She didn't cry, but Alex noticed it and got it out. Well after that, she would not put weight on or straighten that leg -- but still no tears about it. After 24 hours of this, her daddy was so concerned that we went straight to the pediatric clinic upon its opening on Sunday. Let me add that I am not heartless or inattentive to my child, I just thought if something was really wrong, we'd see tears or some sign of her being upset if there was a big problem -- I would not just blow it off! :) What I thought would be an in and out trip with the doctor kindly telling us we were overprotective first-time parents, instead went like this, "Hmm...it is a bit swollen, and she's definitely uncomfortable when I move it. Let's get her over to the ER for x-rays just in case."
So off we went to the local hospital where Kirkley was pinned down two different times for x-rays. Two times because of course the first time she moved too much. All that to say, her knee and leg are fine and now she has this fancy new toy! A very painless trip for her first time to the ER!

I'm soooo glad she is o.k.! Frasure would have done the same thing, he is so much more cautious. LOVE your blog. Thanks for getting Selwyn jump started! love, GArrett
I had no idea! I'm glad you are ok Kirkley!! I love your balloon!! Take care of your sweet self.
Holly...don't feel bad...my dad let my brother (at one year old)crawl around on a broken leg for a week before he took him in. And my Dad's a radiologist (aka Mr. X-ray himself). Glad Kirkley is okay!
Bless her sweet heart! So glad she's ok and had a good experience, all in all- what a little trooper!
